Laminated Wood

Introduction & Characteristics:

laminated wood is an insulation and support material widely used in transformers. It has the advantages like moderate density, high mechanical strength, good compatibility with transformer oil, and easy to process. Its dielectric constant is close to transformer oil, and it can be used in 105 ℃ transformer oil for a long time. Under the external force and strong electric field, it will not break or be broken down. With good performance advantages, it can replace steel plate, insulating paperboard, epoxy paperboard, epoxy glass cloth board in these areas, thereby reducing the weight and material cost of the transformer.

Application:

laminated wood has been widely used to manufacture upper and lower pressure plates, lead clamps, blocks and other parts as insulation and support for oil-cooled transformers.

Product manufacturing process:

laminated wood is made of veneer sheets of high-quality wood such as birch, colored wood, ash, etc, which is made by cooking, rotary cutting, drying; then after coating with special insulating glue, the product is made under high temperature and high pressure.

Lamination process:

Step (A), cutting. Cut the sheet and plate with a continuous cutter, and then cutting the sheet, the amount of shearing is determined according to the calculation of the length and width of the material;   

Step (B), stacking. Smear the sheet obtained in step (A) on both surfaces with special resin as glue, according to the process layer and density range, and then stack;

Step (C), combination. stack the smeared sheets by repairing → layout → weighing;

Step (D), hot pressing. Hot press the plate obtained in step (C) to melt the resin, and put the resin into a gel state, pre-press until the edge of the material flows out of the glue, add immediately with full pressure and more heat;

Step (E), cooling. Turn off the heat source, passing cooling water, and cooling under the state of pressure;

Step (F), the semi-finished products after hot pressing should be processed in the environment of specified room temperature and humidity, and the temperature and time of different grades of resin post-curing treatment are different.
