What affects the performance of Insulation paper?

Jul 22, 2020

In the process of using insulating paper, what factors will affect its performance?

First of all, the discharge time affects the resistance value of the insulating paper. After each insulation test, the paper should be fully discharged. The discharge time should be longer than the charging time to facilitate the remaining charge. The surface of the insulating paper has high moisture absorption , and a water film is formed on the surface of the porcelain sleeve, which often reduces the insulation resistance significantly. When the relative humidity in the air is high, it will absorb more moisture, increase the electrical conductivity, and reduce the insulation resistance value. It can be used at high temperature. A high temperature fan can be used to change its humidity.

Temperature has a great influence on the resistance of the product. Generally, the insulation resistance decreases with temperature rise. The reason is that when the temperature increases, the polarization and the conductance increases, resulting in a decrease in the insulation resistance value. And it is also related to the degree of temperature change and the structure of the insulating material. Therefore, the temperature needs to be recorded during measurement so that it can be applied again for comparison.
